Cannot agree with your opinion about giving Bilic more time simply down to the lack of improvement in over 12 months. 100+ goals in less than 60 games is a stat that is damning IMO. But that''s football... opinions :-)

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread FT 1-0 Att: 56,922
Saying we need better players in all areas etc is just stating the bleedin' obvious.....most clubs fans would say the same. Clearly investing in youth etc should be the way to go but all managers are constantly under pressure so youngsters are not given the time to develop as they were in the past. Added to that the fact the fewer opportunities there are now ie approx only 30% of Premier League players are British and it is no wonder we are not seeing players coming through from the academy. I think Tony Cottee was the last striker to come through the ranks.

Compared to most teams we have a decent squad which "should" finish in the top 10 and one thing Slav did get right yesterday was to say the players found it a difficult environment in which to perform. The team is seriously lacking in confidence at the moment and it is only a few wins that will put that right. Having the likes of Lanzini back could well be the spark needed to help with confidence.

What's needed is a lot of work on the training ground to put this right. I don't like to see managers changed too often so I would give Slav a bit more time but he knows better than anyone that it won't be able to carry on for long like this. Not correct that Bilic should have more of a boundary between himself and the players...the opposite is true. Speak to any player who played under Lyall and they will tell you how it should be done. Plenty of belief in the players and encouragement but a tough streak that everyone respected. They knew who was the boss and all say they felt they had let him down when they didn't perform.

If his head is right, for now, I would go with Sakho & Hernandez upfront but there are teams who struggle in the air at the back so sometimes Carroll would be the better option. Trouble is of course that Sakho could be off in January.

No point there being any conversations re the owners because that situation isn't changing anytime soon.

Fact is. There are always two teams in a game of football. Ideally you want to beat the other one. I've said it before but we just don't get points for pirouettes even if Carroll try them. Therefore winning the game is the name of the game. Since Carroll's return we have done it more.

Totally agree. Spot on.

I have been coming to matches for over 40 years. And never have i been getting so pissed off and miserable about West Ham. Even after a win!
Billic has a knack of ruining very good players.

Sir Alf,
I wish you would stop spouting such common sense on here it's wasted.
Whether anyone likes it or not, we are in a relegation scrap.
I have supported this team since 1965 and have rarely seen such crap.
How 56,000 people put up with that on a regular bais is beyond me and I salute all 56,222 of you.
I never want to see Cresswell (England International) FFS ,Noble, Ayew, Carroll (MOM)???????????? in a WH shirt again even from the subs bench.
The cheapskate Pricks that run this Club should have the courage to dismiss this idiot ASAP.
The reaction from Hernandez when he sat down and Sakho after his goal said it all, showing the shirt with his name on to the cameraman.
EVERY ONE ON HERE CAN SEE YOU ARE TOTALLY OUT OF YOUR DEPTH BILIC SO PLEASE............................

The game did at least expose the attendance claims as being inaccurate. The argument that we sold 56922 tickets can't hold as Swansea didn't take their full allocation, so around 1800 seats not sold.

Yep, not far off the sort of plan some of us were suggesting in May/June. The trouble is you can't do most of that until next Summer, so it's not really a plan to improve us right now.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread FT 1-0 Att: 56,922
IMHO and I realise next to zero chance of this happening with the 2Bobs. Everyone at least now knows the football side of the club has indeed gone to the next level. 2Bobs failed to mention that could be "down"

We need a better manager that's the first priority. Someone who is astute tactically, demands excellence in everything, keeps a boundary between himself and the players.

We need better players in the first 11 ( especially technically ) than Carroll, Ayew, Kouyate and even Cresswell, Arfur, Fernandes. This will take serious money and willingness to trade some of these players ( Carroll asap if his contract is running out).

We need pace in central midfield and strength hence no starting place for Noble any longer but he has a role to play in the squad. Kouyate I would sell as mentioned above as some teams will see him as a good physical lump but only if we get better which I would not trust the manager or owners to get currently.

We need another centre back that has pace and can play football, come out of defence with the ball.

Start purchasing the best younger players, build the academy properly and invest in the best training facilities.

All starts with the manager being replaced asap. Pellegrini for the rest of the season as caretaker? Then nab Silva or Wagner or Rafa or someone with a philosophy, attention to detail etc.. I exclude Ancellotti because he will be too expensive for the 2Bobs and/or want a bigger team.

I addressed my post to kirok1 and preceded my opinion with "I think...", which ought to make it perfectly clear to everyone that what I posted was my opinion.

Now then Zeppelin Features, what're you so upset about? The suggestion that Bilić may be selecting the team more to please the Board than us fans?

Mind how you go through the day - your pointy head might explode at any moment.

the board are not influencing team selection. it's made up crap from people who want anything to stick it to the board. they are shit for so many other reasons that fake ones don't need inventing.

bilic trains the team. picks the players. give the instructions. sets the formation. employs the tactics. in all, decides how we approach matches.

and its shit.

Next match has to be:

Hart
Zab, Fonte, Reid, Masuaku
Antonio, Obiang, Lanzini, Arnie
Sakho, Pea

And play some fucking attacking football

Thrown in Carroll for Masuaku last 10 mins if needed

My comment was to illustrate that Swansea are no mugs. Yesterday, was there 1st goal conceded away from home in the league this season (4 matches).

We could play like Spurs, if we had players of their level..

Ponce seems to be able to know with some precision, exactly who makes what decisions as far as Bilic and the board are concerned.

We could consider ourselves lucky to have such insider knowledge posted on here, or alternatively we could view it as the utter drivel It blatantly is, and disregard it.

Where has this thing about Sullivan influencing team selection come from?
Bilic seems to want to pick Carroll and Ayew whenever he can. And if they fail he picks them again.

kirok1

I think that for the time being he's happy to do the pragmatic thing, play the team the Daves want and let the on-pitch events speak for themselves.

This is of course maddening from where we the fans see it but is hopefully a state of affairs that won't last. Something has to give, and I hope it'll be Sullivan.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread
H & P, how can he be too weak politically? He’s the goddamned manager. He picks the team. He supervises training. He is responsible for tactics.
If the board, or more likely, Sullivan, were interfering, he could simply provide evidence and do what Curbishley did, sue for his contract. His position would’ve been made untenable.
I know it’s seen as a betrayal on here but if Bilic is a principled guy, why wouldn’t he just call it quits? Curbs had his team sold from under him, lies told about why players left and saw promises broken on multiple fronts. In short, his employers lied. If the dildo twins are doing the same, call them on it publically.
He’s a multimillionaire and doesn’t need the cash.
On the other hand, if his selections aren’t being interfered with, he’s simply incompetent and the board are too penny pinching to end things.
Either way, the fans are being fleeced - it just depends on your perspective by whom.

leaden/club footed from the start- our super skippers' shank out to ayew on the left wing- 5 yards, no pressure, managed to arrive two yards behind ayew and they got a throw in. Utter garbage served up by just about every player today. No energy, no purpose, no bollocks. Dead ball- why not give them the ball back- we never do anything with it

Players like kouyate, creswell, ayew, noble need to have a fucking word with themselves if they think thats in any way acceptable at the dog & duck sunday seconds let alone a professional football team.

There's no energy, no passing, noone breaks a tackle- its just get rid as soon as possible

That squad on paper is three goals better than swansea

Get rid of Bilic today please, and lets start over
